About Malala Yousafzai
Meet Malala Yousafzai, born on July 12, 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan. Not educated. Not fair. She became a symbol of hope for all of the non-educated people and girls without rights. Girl in places all around the world can not go outside without a male! The Taliban did not like what Malala was doing. On October 9, 2012, Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban. Luckily the bullet missed her brain and bounced off her skull, traveled under her skin until it rested around her shoulder blade.
What Malala's doing
Malala, a teen activist who speaks out to others. Malala while on a bus survived a bullet through the head and still teaches people about girl's schooling and rights. Malala once said, “My goal is to not get a Nobel Peace Prize… My goal is to get peace and my goal is to see education of every child.” Malala still goes out and teaches others about women's rights and children not in school. For example 32,000,000 girls are not in school and 124,000,000 kids total not in school! ABC News states that 123 million people between the ages of 15 and 24 can not read or write and 61% of them are girls. Malala also started a fund to educate girls called the Malala Fund. On the website it states that it helps girls complete 12 years of safe and quality education so that they can reach their full potential. For more information or to donate click here.
